Day One Prizren and Sharri Mountains
Depart Pristina in the morning for a lovely drive through verdant valleys and the stunning Gorge of Caraleves to the Ottoman city of Prizren, considered by some to be the cultural capital of Kosovo. Visit the Prizren Castle and stop by Prizrens 200 year old tree., Explore the Sinan Pasha Mosque built in 1561 and the Hamam, an old-style Turkish Bath. Tour the Ethnographic Museum, which is in an 18th century home and then visit the Prizreni League Monument of 1878, and the 15th century Catholic Cathedral. Enjoy lunch at the Resort Center Sharri in the spectacular Sharri Mountains. Spend a comfortable night in Prizren before departing the next morning for Brezovica.
Day Two Brezovica Ski Center and Gadime Cave
Depart Prizren in the morning for Brezovica, Kosovos popular mountain tourist resort with peaks up to 2,500 meters. Enjoy a coffee on one of the highest peaks of the country. Descend to the valley for lunch followed by a drive to the town of Donje Gadime where you will visit the Gadime Cave, Kosovos underground treasure, a stunning cave of Paleozoic marble found only on the eastern edges of Kosovo.
Return to Pristina for dinner in one of the citys best restaurants and overnight.
Day Three City Tour of Pristina and Horseback Riding
Accompanied by an experienced English speaking guide, tour Pristina, beginning with a leisurely coffee in an historic bar near the National Museum. Learn about the history of this fascinating region as you visit the statues of prominent historical figures including Gjergj Kastrioti (Skenderbeg) and Mother Teresa, as well as the National Museum, National Theater, and Public Library. Stroll through the Government building gardens, and The University of Pristina, browse the shops for traditional handicrafts and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, drive out of the city to the nearby Ranch and visit the Kosovo battlefield of 1389 on horseback. Return to Pristina in the late afternoon.
Day Four Peja Region and Rugova Valley
Depart Pristina mid-morning for the two hour drive to Peja where you will be met by a knowledgeable guide from Rugova Experience. Your host will guide you through the historical and cultural sites of Peja and then visit the beautiful frescos of the 14th century Deçan Monastery, followed by lunch in the beautiful Boge Valley in the heart of the Rugova Mountains, return to Peja for coffee in the late afternoon before returning to Pristina.
